A Happy New Year to one and all. I'm happy to be starting 2013 with a new challenge that I've taken on with a few of my friends. A 365 Photo Project; a photo a day for the rest of the year. I hope that by doing this I will get a little more creative with my photography, be able to live in the moment and enjoy it, be inspired and inspire others; and it is a fun thing to be working with a bunch of my favorite people. Of course the first topic on our January list, 'YOU', had to be a self portrait. I'm not a big fan of self portraits. I think that it's such a hassle, and then I also feel the need to smile. UGH! Anyway, it had to be done so here goes...

365 Photo Project: Day 1

I mounted our 7D (with a Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 attached) on the tripod and attempted my first DSLR self portrait in front of our garage door. It was a pain in the butt especially because it was snowing slightly, but hey, it had to be done and so this is what I managed to pull off. This is me with my faithful 5D Mark ii. I am, after all, a Canon girl <3
